This year we added a second tree to the Christmas festivus in our household. A real, live tree. Steve and I used to trek through the fields, saw in hand, searching for the perfect tree before we had kids, but it just sort of became too much to do with two little ones. Until this year. We went back to my favorite tree farm. The trees aren't super pretty and the service isn't anything to write home about. They hand you a rusty saw and tell you to have fun. But it's the same tree farm that I used to visit every year when I was a little girl. And you can pick any tree for $20. Sweet, huh?
We had the best time. We walked the entire place, searching for the perfect tree (approximately 7 ft. tall, not too fat, short needles). And we found it. I think it will be one of my favorite memories from this year's Christmas festivus.
I'm the mom to two sweet, red-haired girls and the wife to one hunky, hardworking (and a little crazy) husband. I love to write. I could spend hours looking at beautiful photography. I'm addicted to paint samples. I'm up to my ears in tutus and tiaras and baby dolls and magic wands. I love corn on the cob and fillet mignon and glazed donuts. I love reading good books. I take dance classes and pretend I'm young and fabulous. I'm addicted to the Pottery Barn Catalog. I love to laugh so hard that I spew soda out my nose. I have big dreams that I have yet to accomplish. Mostly...I love this crazy, amazing, blessed life that God has given me.
